Microsoft just wrapped up its Build developer conference keynote, which was streamed live on-line for those who couldn’t attend in person. The big news from the event was the new Xbox TV app for Windows 10, a new streaming stick, and a new app for Xbox One consoles. The Xbox TV is a new app that turns your Windows 10 PC into a TV, allowing you to stream live TV from many popular apps including the new Xbox One S and Xbox One X consoles, as well as cable and satellite. The Xbox One S and Xbox One X can stream live TV, games, and more using the new Xbox One Backward Compatibility feature, which will allow users to play their older games, as well as enjoy the new Xbox TV app.
Microsoft has teased a new Xbox TV app for the Xbox One and, in addition to that, there will also be the release of a new wireless streaming stick this month. We already know about Xbox One S and Xbox One X, but now Microsoft is checking in on the Xbox One as well.
If you’re an Xbox gamer and want to do more than play games, this is for you. On April 26, Microsoft will introduce the Xbox TV app, which will bring together video, games, and fast across screens. On the same day, the company will also show off its new Xbox One S Streaming Stick. The HDMI stick will be similar to the existing Chromecast, which lets users beam entertainment to TVs with the Chromecast app, but it will have higher quality video, and will provide some of the services Xbox One owners get through the Xbox One console.

We’re getting a new Xbox app for Smart TVs
The tech company plans to bring its more than popular Xbox Game Pass service to TVs with its xCloud streaming technology. This initiative offers even more ways to access your favorite Xbox games. They will be available both as a TV app and via Microsoft’s dedicated streaming stick. Liz Hamren, head of gaming experiences and platforms at Microsoft, said: We’re working with TV manufacturers around the world to integrate Game Pass features directly into Internet-connected TVs so you only need one controller to play. However, Microsoft has not yet revealed exactly when this Xbox app will be available on TVs and which manufacturers will make their devices available. Xbox boss Phil Spencer alluded to the Xbox app for TVs late last year, adding that it was in development but would not be available anytime soon.
Microsoft is also working on astreaming device.
The Redmond-based company also announced that it is working on its own streaming devices so that cloud gaming will be available to a growing number of gamers on any TV or monitor, eliminating the need for a console. This means Microsoft will launch a low-cost streaming device, similar to the Chromecast, that will allow gamers around the world to stream Xbox games directly from the cloud. We also develop separate streaming devices that can be connected to your TV or monitor. So if you have a reliable internet connection, you can stream your Xbox experience. As with the TV app, the tech giant hasn’t given a specific release date or pricing options for Xbox streaming devices. No one has any idea what they will look like. So we will have to be patient and wait for official details or leaks. For now, however, we know that Microsoft will be present at E3 on Sunday the 13th. The month of June will be all about games. So it’s unlikely we’ll know more until the devices are ready to ship. Are you excited about these new additions to the Xbox universe? Share your thoughts with us in the comments below.
