Acer has announced a new line of travel-friendly PCs with a P6 model that is as thin as a sheet of paper.
Acer has taken the lead in the “Ultralight” or “Zero-Laptop” market, running away with the title of the lightest laptop on the market. The new TravelMate P7 is indeed light, but it is not a true Ultrabook due to its more traditional keyboard and larger trackpad. Regardless, the TravelMate P6 is a very light, portable device. It weighs just 1.2 pounds and measures just 0.8″ (21.6 mm) thick.
Acer has been fairly quiet about its upcoming lineup of mobile workstations, but the company is set to make a splash with the new TravelMate P6 series . The new models feature a new ultra-low profile design with a slightly tapered top, but the real news is under the hood. The latest TravelMate models are powered by the AMD Turion X2 Ultra processor, which is an updated version of the company’s new Klamath mobile processor core. The X2 Ultra is an evolution of the Klamath core, with a speed bump of 20 percent and a few tweaks to the architecture.
Ideal for professionals who are always on the go, the Travelmate series offers Windows 10 laptops for high-performance work. Acer has finally decided to expand its existing lineup and unveiled two new devices in the Travelmate P6 series. The Travelmate series is not only light, but also rugged and reliable, with long battery life for an excellent user experience. Finally, the lineup includes a long-awaited convertible device with a Corning Gorilla Glass touchscreen and a 360-degree flexible hinge. The new clamshell models also feature the latest 11th generation Intel Core i7 vPro processors. The new generation of devices is equipped like no other to deliver superior performance and seamless collaboration. The Travelmate series is ideal for users who attend long meetings in which notes are taken and presentations are made, said James Lin, general manager of the notebook division of Acer Inc.’s Computer Products division.Contents
