David DiGregorio, Library Media Specialist at Tenafly High School
THS-TV Students find themselves in the midst of exciting changes in television, communication, and multimedia. Within Tenafly High School's Library Media Center facility, located in New Jersey, students get hands on experience working with a wide range of equipment. They take part in daily decisions and become part of the exciting dynamic found in live television broadcasting. Knowledge and experience gained here will be beneficial no matter what career choice these students make. Many students find their niche at THS-TV in front and behind the camera.
Involved students experience the excitement of live broadcasts and tapings of our school's events to include theatrical performances, sports, classes, video conferences, special events and promotional videotapes using professional broadcast equipment. And students learn about the technical and historical aspects of television, a broadcast medium that rose out of the minds of inventive and visionary persons early in the 20 century. This is the only area of the school where students, under supervision, get hands on experience with the latest in streaming video technology, digital video editing, computer networking, graphics for television, imaging, and can experiment with television and computer technology. We encourage our students to be the inventive and visionary persons of the 21st century.
Students will experience what it is like to work behind and in front of the camera in television. With broadcast equipment donated from several television stations along with several grants from the T.E.F. and H.S.A., we have built a multi-use live television control room, chock full of professional broadcast equipment with lots of buttons and gadgets. A direct fiber optic transmission to Cablevision's head end allows for broadcast to all Cablevision subscribers in Tenafly. Students become technically and / or artistically involved and they have the opportunity to learn about television production, refine their communication skills, and learn that the best broadcasts must have respect and good will as their central purpose. Students that belong to this learning community form their own homeroom producing a “Morning Homeroom Program” that all other homerooms, Tenafly residents, and visitors to this web page can "tune in" to to get in tune!

4Video Guys,
The machine performs flawlessly! After spending thousands of dollars on editing systems from those big companies only to find out that they won't or can't help if you have a technical problem, It's reassuring to know that you are a phone call away. You know the editing software inside out. Other companies sell you a machine and you're on your own. It was also important that you delivered the system, set it up and had me up and running. To me the support you give is priceless. I'm a very happy customer. I love the Avid system!
John Orrichio, Independent Filmmaker

Hi Matt;
Just wanted to drop you a line on my recent AVID/MOJO purchase. I received it yesterday. Thanks for recognizing the wonderful deal for us and more specifically, the wonderful service. I can't tell you how long it has been since someone called just to find out how happy we were about a $90 product that I bought on the internet! This is great and I will be sure to pass the information to my sister for support and any further purchases.
Thanks again,

Hey, 4Video and Company:
I just wanted to let you know that I am VERY pleased with my Liquid 7.1 Upgrade. It installed nicely on my system and actually works great. Pinnacle/Avid made some nice improvements to make it very easy to use for the "casual" user such as myself. I was pleasantly surprised that Avid also provided the TitleDeko Pro license as well as part of the upgrade. I did already own the HollywoodFX Pro, so now I have a pretty complete package to do really cool "homemade' videos.
Thanks again for GREAT Support.

Dear 4VideoEquiment.com,
I got your call the other day about my machine, and I just wanted to say everything is fine. I have been very happy with the machine, and have had absolutely no problems with it (which is amazing, because I deal with hundreds of computers all the time, and as you know...they tend to break all the time due to computer user error).
I have kept it very very clean. Nothing but Adobe products and office....it is strickly a video machine.
I have also recommended you to other agencies and other locations. I was a little nervious when first purchasing from your company, but have been happy ever since. I look forward to future orders, or any referrals that I can send your way.
Sincerely,
Robert Kocher

4Video,
I purchased the Liquid Pro turnkey system about one year ago. I can tell you that the system from 4videoequipment is flawless. If you read the Pinnacle forum, you’ll notice that a lot of the users (as with most editing systems) run into system bugs and glitches. I never had any problems with the system, nor did I have a need to deal with customer support. Recently, I upgraded to Liquid Pro (version 6.0). To my surprise, they agreed to do the complete installation and testing on my computer. I sent the computer to his shop and just received it last week. Once again, the system runs like a champ. This is quite amazing due to the fact that most Liquid users will tell you that you need to install the version 6.1 patch to avoid problems with the original version. I have had no problems with the system and highly recommend (just as I’ve done on the Liquid forum) the folks at 4videoequipment.com.

I worked with 4VideoEquipment in my capacity as the US exclusive representative for Blackmagic Design videographic products. They were always extremely knowledgeable, thorough, efficient and comprehensive in every aspect of our dealings with one another. They were also helpful in promoting our products at tradeshows in their own booth or at our own. We learned we could rely on 4VideoEquipment to accurately position our products in the most professional way. Companies that work with 4VideoEquipment are fortunate to work wiht a company who genuinely cares about their customer.

Matt,
I just wanted to let you know in writing how much I appreciated being able to rely on you last Wednesday when ordering Aspect HD. On two different instances, you came through with fast shipping on my order, without which, I would have lost the client! While these were small purchases, winning over two new clients with my new technical ability who will now count on us for their editing needs is huge! More generally, your continual excellence and professionalism, and your wilingness to help me get information needed to complete my companies needs against deadlines has been more appreciated than I can make clear in a short email. I really hope you pass this on to your supervisor there. I'm sure he or she is used to getting letters of praise about you, but one more never hurts!
Thanks again for all your help Matt, Keep up the great work!
Sincerely,
Gary Danish

Henry,
I always said you're a genius!
Thanks SO much for helping me with my technical issue yesterday. This is a perfect example of why you should host a user's group. It took you no time at all to come up with the answer after I spent literally hours sweating over this. The documentation has always been spotty at best. This is a real lifesaver for me.
Thanks again,

Datline: Friday, March 16, 2007 - Lynchburg, Virginia
It was 4:00 local time (EST) and I had just discovered that I had a major problem. Actually the problem was discovered the night before when our client gave us feedback on the first DVD-9 that we had authored. Basically - it sucked. We knew immediately that we needed a new software encoder. Our editor gathered information and we decided we needed to order ProCoder 2.0, then located a cendor and sent me - the purchasing guru - a link to a website and instructions to order it first thing in the morning.
Friday morning I ordered it - in the afternoon I was contacted by the vendor that it was out of stock and not only would I not receive it Monday morning...I wasn't going to be able to receive it for 3 weeks because version 3.0 was due to be released.
I sent Josh (editor) back to the drawing board. Time was running out. I started scrambling to locate a vendor who still had a copy of Canopus ProCoder 2.0...even called Canopus directly. They told me that they were very excited about 3.0 - I told them I needed something immediately. They hadn't had a copy of 2.0 anywhere in their offices for over a month! They gave me a list of resellers and I started calling.
Now it was 4:30 and I was in trouble. I don't know what made me pick 4VideoEquipment....I was really looking for a company on the west coast...that way I could gain a few hours. It was fate. Because at the other end of that phone line was MATT SHERMAN! Hereafter to be referred to as The Great One. The Great One was in New Jersey, in the middle of sleet and freezing rain. It was really time for him to be going home. He listened to my plight and promised to call me right back - he was going to find out if they had a copy of ProCoder 2.0 left anywhere.
He called! No luck with any new or old. My heart sank....but did The Great One gift up? No! He asked the question noone else did, "Do you need it to be Procoder or will another software encoder work for you?" Hell, I didn't know! I was just the purchasing guru. I wouldn't know an encoder if it jumped me in a dark alley! The Great One didn't really know encoders either - but his technical support staff did...could I hold on while he went and talked to that guy? I could hold on until forever if he could solve my dilemma!
He came back with an alternate program - Sorenson Squeeze. He talked me through some of the similarities and differences - I asked Josh, he said that he had heard of Sorenson but didn't know if it could "Encode MPEG2" (whatever the heck that means). We found (myself and The Great One) that it could.
Now the final part of the puzzle. "Can I get it on Monday?" By now, it's after 5pm and New Jersey is closed. UPS has come and gone. There is no one in their warehouse. "Let me call the vendor and see what I can do" Well, although The Great One couldn't physically ship the item, he found out he was able to get the product to us digitally, via download. So...instead of Monday - I had my solution on Friday.
The moral of this story? At any point, Matt Sherman could have said - Im really sorry, but I can't help you until Monday. And that would have had to be okay. At any point, Matt could have said - You know, I need to get home before the glacier overtakes my home and my wife and baby freeze to death. And I would have told him to run along - Monday would have to suffice.
But Matt Sherman took customer service to an extraordinary level. He stayed until he had gotten the codes and links needed to get our product to us. He probably would have stayed on the pohone with me until we had the software installed (not necessary). The software has solved our problem. We did NOT lose our largest client. We had the whole weekend to experiment with settings, etc. to make the project as perfect as possible.
We just got approval on the project this morning. Thanks to The Great One. I can't believe such excellence still exists. I would like to declare today Matt Sherman day - let me know where to send the balloons.
Thanks again!
